Yes. We use products registered and approved for residential use. We'll advise you on how long to keep children and pets away from treated areas — typically two to four hours. Once dry, treated surfaces are safe.
Treatment time depends on the size of the property and the type of pest. A standard residential treatment takes between 45 minutes and two hours. We'll give you an accurate estimate before we arrive.
For most treatments, we ask that you, your family, and pets leave for a short period — usually two to four hours — while the treatment takes effect. We'll confirm this when booking based on the specific pest and method used.
For most pests, you'll notice a significant reduction within 24 to 72 hours. Some treatments — like cockroach gel bait — work over seven to ten days as the bait is carried back to the colony. We'll explain what to expect for your specific treatment.
Where live capture is involved, we euthanise animals humanely using pain-free, veterinary welfare-approved methods. We take this responsibility seriously.
Yes. We offer ongoing service contracts for restaurants, warehouses, offices, and other commercial properties. These include scheduled inspections, treatment visits, and compliance documentation where required. Contact us for a tailored quote.
Our treatments are designed to eliminate the current infestation and provide residual protection. However, pests can re-enter from neighbouring properties or through gaps in the structure. We'll advise on preventative measures and offer follow-up visits as needed.
We'll send you a preparation checklist when you book. Generally: clear under sinks and behind appliances, remove food items from treatment areas, and ensure pets are secured. The more accessible the area, the more effective the treatment.
Yes. We hold the certifications required to legally apply registered pest control products in South Africa. All work is carried out in compliance with the Fertilizers, Farm Feeds, Agricultural Remedies and Stock Remedies Act.
Yes, where applicable. Many treatments include a perimeter spray or barrier treatment outside the structure to prevent re-entry. We'll confirm the scope of treatment when we assess your situation.
We accept EFT, cash, and major debit/credit cards. Payment is due on completion of the treatment unless a prior arrangement has been made. Commercial clients may be invoiced on 30-day terms.
Yes. We are able to provide a written treatment report when required. For commercial clients and property transactions — particularly beetle inspections — we issue a formal completion certificate suitable for submission to estate agents or banks.
Absolutely. Send us a photo via our contact form or call us directly and we'll identify the pest and advise on the most appropriate treatment. Don't wait — most infestations grow quickly if left untreated.
Where our schedule allows, yes. Contact us directly by phone for urgent situations and we'll do our best to attend as quickly as possible. Wasp nests and rodent infestations in occupied spaces are always treated as priority callouts.
A one-off treatment addresses an existing infestation. A maintenance plan involves scheduled visits — typically quarterly — to inspect, treat, and prevent pest activity before it becomes a problem. Maintenance plans are particularly recommended for restaurants, schools, and rental properties.
In many South African municipalities, a beetle-free (entomology) certificate is a requirement for property transfer. We conduct thorough timber inspections and issue certificates valid for the conveyancing process.
You can book by calling us on 079-995-1066, emailing us at info@onguardpestcontrol.co.za, or completing the contact form on our website. We aim to respond to all enquiries within a few hours during business hours.
